About this event
Spanish Cinema: Past and Future is a new film series by the Instituto Cervantes Leeds that establishes a dialogue of themes and cinematographic styles between classic and recent Spanish films.
This event will screen the film Paper Tigers which shows the social changes that came to Spain in the year of the first democratic elections after the death of Franco. It relates the doubts of Carmen and Juan, a couple who always considered themselves to be progressive. They meet by chance to Alberto, and they automatically fall for his style of life. This triggers a series of emotional and political contradictions on them.
Location: Parkinson Building SR B.08
The film will be screened in Spanish with English subtitles.
