Postgraduate Hub

Postgraduate life might seem like it’s all about the degree sometimes, but that’s far from true.
We're here for PGs
Postgraduate life might seem like it’s all about the degree sometimes, but that’s far from true. Keeping a healthy work-life balance, staying connected with other PGs and finding support for your studies when necessary are all really important, and your Union can give you a hand with all of them.
To get started with what’s going on, there’s a popular Facebook group for postgrad happenings that you might want to join – Leeds PG Hub (external site).
We’ve also created an information page to help you when preparing for life at Leeds. Discover the best places to live, our favourite supermarkets and transport links here.
Representation
At Leeds you get a say in your education and experience. There are students who specifically represent the postgraduate cohort in each School and can help you to make changes to your academic experience, whether you’re a taught or research students.
You can find who your rep is with the rep finder.
Your Postgraduate Exec Officer
Rimsha Khan is our International & Postgraduate Officer for 2023/2024, and you can reach out to her for advice, support or to raise any concerns.
Email Rimsha at: r.khan2@leeds.ac.uk.
Her role makes sure our diverse community is properly represented, and leads on the creation of opportunities to share culture and experiences. As an Exec officer Rimsha also acts as a trustee for LUU.

Help and support
Postgraduate life can present a different set of struggles, but you’re not alone – if you find yourself coming up against any problems we can still help out.
You can meet your Postgraduate Representation team here, get more help with our PG-specific advice FAQs, or visit Mind’s dedicated PGR health and wellbeing resource, ‘The Wellbeing Thesis’ (external link).
If you need academic support, reach out to our Academic Engagement Team at AcademicSupport@luu.leeds.ac.uk
Failing that, you can always visit our Help and Support service.
Leeds Doctoral College
If you’re a postgraduate researcher, the Leeds Doctoral College is a valuable resource which will help you connect with other researchers and access the support and services you need.
Get social
It might be helpful to read about the experiences of other postgraduates, in their own words. Our Medium blog has a dedicated PG section.
You could also join our dedicated PG Facebook group, to meet other PG students and find like-minded peers.
Postgraduate events
We also run events for postgraduates throughout the year, from our weekly Postgraduate Cafe catch-ups to more academic meets – have a look at our Engage site to find one that suits you.
