Jobs
Whether it's to support your studies or a big career move, we could have the job for you
Working at LUU is one of the best ways to ensure flexibility around your studies. With an understanding team, and with jobs across bars, cafes, services and more, there’s a real variety of roles to consider.
At LUU, our working culture is all about inclusivity, fun, and a focus on learning and development. With a diverse team and inclusive ethos, everyone is welcome here. We’re building a learning organisation, and want every one of our staff to be invested in their own development – whether that’s striving to be the best they possibly can in their current role, or taking the opportunities available to them to upskill themselves for their future. Jobs at the Union are about more than just making money – they’re about finding friends and getting ready for your future.
“Starting my LUU journey as a Bar Assistant when I was in my first year completely made my university experience. It was so easy to fit shifts around my studies as there is a good system and managers are very considerate. Everyone is so welcoming and approachable, so I have always felt that I could ask the team for help.
I have gained experience in interviewing and training new staff which are both transferable skills that helped me with my university course, and I gained various hospitality skills like making cocktails in Terrace and lattes in Pyramid.
If you are looking for a fun and inclusive job that accommodates your studies but also builds up your experience, confidence, and skills, LUU is the place for you. It is a great opportunity to learn, build up your CV, have fun and make friends for life!”
– Levi, about their work experience in Venues
“I began at LUU as a Help & Support Assistant and spent a year working in the foyer team whilst I was finishing the final year of my International History & Politics degree.
Balancing both work and study was quite easy as I didn’t have lots of contact hours, and my work in the foyer was flexible. Coming to work was such a welcome change from spending hours thinking only in academic terms.
After a year of working part-time, I’d amassed skills I didn’t even realise I was acquiring. So I ended up getting way more out of the role which I’d initially applied for just as a part-time job.”
