Pyramid – along with nearby Mango Studio – is a space for students to study, eat and chill.

Designed with those who bring in their own food or choose to-go options in mind, these spaces have tables and chairs and can be used however you like, whether it’s a quick pit stop for lunch, or a more relaxed spot to study – perfect for days with a mix of online and on-campus classes.

Anyone’s welcome – whether you’ve brought in food from home to warm up in the student kitchen, need somewhere to attend your online lecture, or have chosen to eat from one of our grab and go outlets. Why not grab lunch at Co-op, then get comfy in Pyramid? You’re bound to find a great deal in our on-campus supermarket, and there’s no pressure to spend anything once you’re sat down.

We’d love for students to make use of these free spaces to ensure customers of our eat-in outlets can find a place to sit.

Pyramid Theatre

We’re pretty unique. In fact, Pyramid Theatre is one of only nine in-the-round theatres in the UK. Take your performance to the next level and let the audience see you do your thing from every angle.

This special space can seat up to 200 people and can also be set up as a 160-seat studio theatre, and has previously hosted theatre and dance performances, comedy nights and film screenings.

Currently showing screenings for Hyde Park Picture House on Sundays and Mondays every week.

Riley Smith Theatre

The Riley Smith Theatre is our oldest, most established venue, having hosted countless performances and ceremonies down the years before its recent refurbishment.

From theatre and dance to fairs, markets and conferences, this 360-seat space benefiting from our Foyer’s high footfall is your best bet for large-scale events and performances.

Ring Carrier Recycling Point

LUU is home to a Terracycle ring carrier recycling point for staff, students and members of the public.

Ring carriers – the stretchy plastic that holds multipacks of cans together – are highly damaging to the environment, both in terms of single-use plastics and harm to wildlife who can become caught in the loops.

Every ring carrier we collect will be sent back to Terracycle and turned into new plastic products – all you need to do is drop them off at our collection point.

Find out more on Terracycle’s website.

Scream is LUU’s brand new ice cream and dessert parlour, serving up ice cream, shakes, and other sweet treats at bargain prices.

This is ice cream with a conscience. Our ice cream is supplied by Yorvale, a small York-based farm with a focus on sustainability – demonstrated through its low-energy production methods, water recycling and minimal food miles.

We serve all our products without any single use plastic straws, spoons or containers. There’s vegan options too, so everyone can get in on the action.

Find us in Union Square on level -2 or order via Uber Eats, and with our Scream loyalty card, get a free two-scoop ice cream when you make ten purchases.

11am – 8pm, Monday to Friday

Scream will be operating amended hours during the spring break, check out the out of term opening hours below.

Stylus is the answer to all your live music and night out needs.

Home to our infamous club night Fruity, this venue is decked out with a brilliant sound system and all you need to put on a successful club night or gig – just ask SBTRKT, Public Enemy and James Blake. Stylus is available to book for LUU societies and external promoters alike.

LUU is home to one of Leeds’ biggest outdoor terraces, and we’ve certainly made the most of it. Serving up cocktails and plenty of great deals, Terrace is the ultimate place to be on a sunny day.

Even when it drizzles, our indoor space still caters for all your drinks deal needs. With our varied events schedule, it’s clear to see why this vibrant bar is a student hotspot.

Find us on the ground floor of the Union building.
