About this event
Take a well-earned afternoon break with PhD researchers from across campus. Talk about your work and find opportunities for collaboration, or just don’t, either is fine by us. We’ll be there to talk informally about any challenges you’re facing and we’ll have ideas about how you can overcome them.
This year's PhTea events are themed around the idea of 'Research in the Public Realm'. This month we're welcoming Inés Soria-Donlan and Katie Hodgkinson from the Changing the Story project.
Changing The Story is a four-year international, multi-disciplinary project which supports the building of inclusive civil societies with, and for, young people in post-conflict countries, funding by the AHRC's Global Challenges Research Fund. It is a collaborative project between universities, NGOs, artists, grassroots civil society organisations (museums, heritage organisations, community participatory arts and activist groups) and young people across the world. Working in a range of post-conflict settings including Colombia, Cambodia, Rwanda, Kosovo and South Africa, it asks how the arts, heritage, and human rights education can support youth-centred approaches to civil society building in places living with a legacy of conflict, highlighting the potential of Arts and Humanities research within the broader International Development context.
