About this event
The market town of Grassington was first mentioned in William the Conqueror's Domesday Book census (1086) and is surrounded by beautiful limestone scenery and a rare deciduous woodland.
Grass Wood is an area of ancient woodland including an Iron Age fort, Fort Gregory, and is the furthest point on our longer walk. The ancient village is centred on the cobbled square with a variety of shops, pubs, a village museum, cafes and restaurants.
We will depart from the Parkinson Steps at 10:00 returning at approximately 17:00. The cost of trip will be just £12 and we will be travelling by private hire coach. We would like to emphasise the need for good outdoor walking shoes or strong trainers plus a layer of waterproof clothing.
