About this event
A Chilean mural has recently been uncovered in LUU. It was painted in 1976 by a group of Chilean political refugees who came to Leeds to flee military dictatorship. General Pinochet’s overthrow of the socialist president, Allende, not only had a massive impact on Chile but also on the West.
The exhibition will reveal the voices of the Chilean community in Yorkshire on the mural, to their experience during the military regime and the years that followed.
