New year and new things are coming to your Union. With the exciting news that Essentials is undergoing refurbishment to become a Co-op, we’re making sure you can still pick up your sandwich, stationary and tickets in the meantime.

Your Exec have been in their positions since this summer and have all been working hard to tackle all the things they promised they’d sort out for you. Here’s a round up of everything they have achieved so far, and what they aim to do in the next term to make student life better for all students.
Last week we held a campus-wide vote on “Should LUU support a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal”. Over 1100 students took part, of which nearly 80% voted to support the motion.
After weeks of campaigning and a great voter turnout, we can now announce who will be representing LUU at the 2019 NUS Conferences.
Results are in for the campus-wide referenda on the following ideas that did not pass at our Better Union Forum. We wanted to know if LUU should support a People’s Vote on Brexit and whether LUU should provide the same support for radio and television as it does for print media.
Plans are developing to transform Essentials, your union supermarket, into a Co-op, providing you with more choice of products, cheaper options and a speedier shopping experience.
You can pick up a free pair of ear plugs from behind the bars at LUU when you’re on a night out. It only takes fifteen minutes for loud music to damage your ears so grab a pair and give your ears a rest.
Our zero tolerance to hate crime and harassment on campus campaign has engaged almost 6,000 students and 150 staff members on campus to empower them to draw the line on hate crime.
