LeadLUU 2023: Nominations Are Open

Do you want to be one of our next LUU Exec Officers?

LeadLUU – our annual Student Executive election – is here, and nominations are open. It’s your chance to run for one of the six Student Executive roles which work together to lead the Union for a year. If elected, you’ll help to make decisions concerning the direction of the Union, represent and engage with over 39,000 students, be the face of LUU across social media channels, in the press and during events, and run campaigns. This is a paid, full time position, and it is open to any student, no matter what your course is or where you are in your academic journey.

You can nominate yourself for any of the following roles:

  • Activities & Opportunities Officer
  • Education Officer
  • Wellbeing Officer
  • Equality & Liberation Officer
  • International & Postgraduate Officer
  • Union Affairs & Communications Officer
  • Gryphon Editor

If this sounds like something for you, or if you know a friend who would be a great officer, fill out the nomination form. Nominations will close on Friday 3 February.

All nominees will lead a campaign to share their values and goals before the Leeds University community  votes for the candidates they’d like to represent them for the year. Don’t worry if the idea of campaigning seems unfamiliar and scary – we’ll provide all the training and resources you need, and we’ll be here to guide and support you. So, even if you don’t win, the campaigning process will give you plenty of useful experience in presenting yourself and your ideas to the public.
