#AGM #Annual general meeting

LUU members invited to attend general meeting on August 15

On August 15 Leeds University Union will be holding a general meeting, where its members – students at the University of Leeds – can find out more about the Union’s business and  formally adopt the revised governing documents approved by the Board of Trustees and May Annual General Meeting by way of special resolution on May 12 2022.

The resolution regards amendments to LUU’s bye-laws and articles of association, in line with recommendations made by NCVO. A second meeting is required because of changes made to the proposal since the first vote.

We’re required to inform members that the AGM is taking place, and have included the official notice below.

GENERAL MEETING

Leeds University Union gives notice that a general meeting will take place on Monday 15 August 2022 at 9.30am.

Members are invited to attend the general meeting to formally adopt the revised governing documents approved by the Board of Trustees and May Annual General Meeting by way of special resolution.

The meeting will take place on Microsoft Teams and members can register to attend by requesting the Teams link for the meeting by contacting  LUULeadershipSupport@leeds.ac.uk

Members unable to attend the meeting at that time but wishing to vote by proxy on any item can do so by casting a secret vote in advance of the meeting by contacting the chair, Maria Papageorgiou. They can do this by contacting studentofficers@luu.org.uk and indicating whether they support or oppose the resolution.

Confirmation will be sent to members voting by proxy that their vote has been cast on the resolution after the conclusion of the meeting.
