About this event
The waterfalls at Aysgarth have been a popular attraction since the early 19th century, when the poet Wordsworth used to visit. Turner and Ruskin have painted the falls and they were even the setting for a fight scene in the Hollywood film Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves.
Option 1 - we will lead a circular 12km walk from the National Park Centre at Aysgarth in Wensleydale taking in three flights of waterfalls. A woodland section is then followed to head on to the ruins and gardens at Bolton Castle before returning back to Aysgarth via Carperby.
Option 2 - will be a shorter 5km route option visiting the waterfalls.
We would like to emphasise the need for good outdoor walking shoes or boots plus a full body layer of waterproof clothing. The conditions underfoot can be very wet and sometimes muddy so please wear footwear you don't mind getting dirty so please bring a spare pair of shoes for afterwards
A final details email will be sent out on the Thursday before.
