Can you tell us a little bit about your sport?
Badminton is a great sport which requires excellent racquet skills and footwork to get the shuttlecock over the net. The games can be very fast and competitive which is all part of the fun of it.
Why is badminton the sport for you, and how did you get into it?
I started playing badminton from a very young age and I enjoyed it very much. I then joined my local performance centre and went on to represent my county playing in tournaments across the country.
What does Varsity mean to you?
Winning Varsity would mean a lot since it is our final match of the year, so it would be a brilliant way to end the year, especially with it being the final year for many of our players.
How are you and the team feeling about the match?
Our team is feeling excited and ready to play!
Who’s the one to watch on your team?
On our team Shiwen He is the one to watch as she is our best singles player. She has excellent racquet skills and brilliant footwork. Rachael and Ashleigh are also the doubles pair to watch out as they have performed brilliantly throughout this year.
And how will you be preparing for the match?
We will be having a few training sessions to ensure we perfect our skills and get our tactics ready. We have also selected teams which we think will be strongest.
