Still supporting students during lockdown: new study spaces and our new food and drink delivery services

In light of this weekend’s Government announcement, we wanted to let you know that the LUU building will remain open during lockdown, including providing new study spaces.

We are closing bars and shops but converting some outlets to takeaway only, with collection on campus and/or home delivery services. As part of the legal requirements, we will ask students to consume any food and drink purchased at LUU at home/away from the building.

We’re doing everything we can to support you during this challenging time, and from continuing in-person Help & Support to the provision of additional study spaces, we want to reassure each and every student that LUU is still here for you.

NEW OPENING HOURS

From Thursday 5th November – Wednesday 2nd December, during lockdown, the building opening hours will be:

  • Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm
  • Saturday 10am to 6pm
  • Sunday 12pm to 6pm

 

 

Help & Support in the foyer

Our Help and Support desk will remain open in the foyer, but you can also phone 0113 3801 400 or send us an email.

The new times are below:

  • Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm
  • Saturday to Sunday 12pm to 6pm

Study Spaces

We have the following study spaces (which you don’t need to book)

  • Balcony
  • Common Ground seating area
  • Riley Smith Theatre (NEW)
  • Union Square

 

Change to study space guidance

The lockdown guidelines will also affect how you use our study spaces:

  • You will not be able to consume any food or drink in the study spaces – if you buy food/drink in the LUU building, under the new legal requirements, you need to consume it at home/away from the building or in the LUU Welfare Area (Pyramid Café)
  • You must wear a mask at all times.

Welfare area (Pyramid Cafe)

We are opening Pyramid Café as a welfare area for you to eat/drink in

  • Open from 11am to 3pm daily

Takeaway services

Common Ground

Common Ground is still open but as a takeaway-only service with food/drink to be consumed at home/away from the LUU Building.

Co-op on Deliveroo

Gear

The Gear shop is closed but you can order online at Leedsgear.com and then click-and-collect.

Humpit

(Outlet is closed Saturday and Sunday)

Old Bar - Food/Drink delivery

  • Booking via Uber Eats
  • Available from 12pm midday on Thursday 5th November
  • Delivery availability: 12pm midday – 12am midnight

Pearls Bubble Tea

  • Open Monday to Friday, 11am to 6pm

(Outlet is closed Saturday and Sunday)

Joblink

Joblink is open 9 – 5 Mon – Fri,  but will be operating remotely.
