The Leeds Partnership

About The Leeds Partnership
LUU has joined forces with the University of Leeds to create The Leeds Partnership – bringing together students and staff to agree a set of shared expectations around the Leeds learning experience. The Partnership is a recognition of the need for all members of the Leeds community – both students and staff – to work together to contribute to students’ sense of belonging, and to enable them to make the most of the opportunities available to them during their time at uni. This partnership is one of symbiosis – a mutually beneficial relationship between staff and students, that provides the groundwork for our successes while strengthening our sense of community.
The Leeds Partnership is made up of three core commitments:
- To be responsible, accessible and respectful;
- To prepare for, engage with and contribute to learning at Leeds;
- To help each other to reflect, develop and improve.
You can discover a full list of the Leeds Partnership’s expectations on the University’s website.
The Leeds Partnership in practice
The Leeds Partnership should be embedded in everything we do here at Leeds. While the annual awards ceremony celebrates the very best examples of the Partnership in practice, its principles should be apparent in your everyday learning experiences at Leeds – and in the way you engage with them. Some of the ways the Partnership’s commitments are continuously implemented include:
- Regular programme meetings between students and teaching staff;
- Student Staff Forums for each school, including involvement of student society representatives;
- Student-run module surveys;
- Programme review sessions built into personal tutorials;
- Inclusion of students in recruitment of academic staff and prospective students;
- Student participants on all of the University’s major committees, enabling them to shape the future of the University.
The Partnership Awards
Every year we hold the Partnership Awards, celebrating the students and staff who have gone above and beyond to make the Leeds learning experience so brilliant. In 2022 we’ve worked to broaden the categories of the Partnership Awards in an effort to make them as inclusive as possible. Our community is large and diverse, and we’re committed to providing the opportunity for everyone to be recognised and celebrated.
