Shape the future of NUS liberation work

The National Union of Students (NUS) is a member-led campaigning organisation that brings together SUs across the UK to fight for the rights of students. A crucial part of that fight is its liberation work, in pursuit of equality, justice, and liberation for all marginalised groups of students.

The NUS is now seeking students’ views on the future of this work, as it looks to enter a new era of student liberation and grow campaigning in this area. As a member-led organisation it’s essential that students have their say – which is why there’s a consultation now live for students to share their views at this crucial planning stage.

If you’re a student, the NUS wants to hear from you about how they should grow their liberation work. Respond online or book a group session on this page. The deadline for responses is Friday 21 January.

‘Liberation’ describes the work the NUS (and LUU) does to liberate women, Black* people, LGBT+ people and disabled people from oppression. That includes campaigning, organising, training, lobbying the Government, political education and press. It’s really important work, so it’s vital that students have their say on what it looks like in the future.

*Please note that NUS uses ‘Black’ as an inclusive term to refer to people of African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean descent and those who self-define as Black.
