The Station Manager at Leeds Student Radio is a full-time, fixed-term position whose responsibility is to both maintain LSR as one of the biggest and best student radios in the country, and push it forward into the future.
With over 250 members, the manager’s role is to create an environment that welcomes those new to student radio, but also allows those more versed in broadcasting to flourish and push themselves creatively.
The manager is also in charge of the station’s 16-person committee, and should be someone who is comfortable leading a tight team and fostering a friendly atmosphere that the station’s volunteers enjoy being part of.
As Leeds comes out of a year of lockdown laws and social restrictions, LSR’s next manager needs to meet any possible challenges created by this. Members who have joined this year have had either little or no studio time, and past members will not have been in the studio for most of the year. The new Station Manager will also have to make sure that they have a strong committee and are confident in their ability to create a strong unit out of people who may not know each other as well as previous years due to COVID limiting the amount of social interactions within the station that previous years has allowed.
The deadline for applications is 18 April 2021 and interviews will take place remotely in late April. For any questions about this position or the application process, please email Leo Joslin at info@thisislsr.com.
