What we’re all about
Hi there! Join our fun society where table tennis is at the heart of making new friends, getting some exercise and most of all having a great time learning such an amazing sport! We are a relaxed and sociable society that is available for everyone to join, from complete beginners to those that have been playing their whole life. So come along to one of our Give It A Go sessions to try for yourself!
Practice takes place at Cromer Terrace. *Location: as you exit the union from the main entrance, turn left and then take the first left again. Cromer terrace is located a short walk on the left-hand side of this road.
We play socially:
Mondays: 18:00 - 20:00 Tuesdays 16:00 - 17:00
We also have two excellent men's teams and one women's team who compete against other universities in the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) league. If you are interested in playing for our university team you will need to attend team trials at the start of the year. This then allows you to upgrade from a Standard Membership to an Elite Membership. Memberships are tiered with two divisions:
One Semester: £11
One Year: £15
This membership is open to all.
One Semester: £18
One Year: £22
All team travel expenses will be reimbursed by the society. If unsuccessful, you will still be able to purchase the Standard membership. If you are trying out for the team, please do not purchase any membership until after the trials.
The society is run by 5 committee members who are voted in at the end of each academic year:
President: The President is in charge of the whole society and makes sure things run smoothly.
Treasurer: The Treasurer is in charge of the club's finances and budgeting the funds.
Secretary: The Secretary is in charge of the clubs email and will respond to any queries about the club from email.
Team Captain: The Team Captain (Men's and Women's teams) is in charge of picking out members for all 3 of our teams and is in charge of getting the teams to matches and helping them.
Media and Events Secretary: The Media and Events Secretary is in charge of the club's social media accounts as well as planning and running socials for the society.
