Welcome to the Midwifery Society!

We aim to provide learning opportunities through film screenings, study days and events throughout the year, whilst uniting
the three cohorts with socials and the new mentor programme introduced in 2015. We have started working together with the course leaders to build on the student experience here at Leeds in conjunction with the cohort reps and the school rep for midwifery.

We have an annual conference, accessed by midwifery students, prospective students, registered midwives and service users. Our first was on the topic of Normalising Birth, and the second on Induction of Labour.  Both events have been well attended and our list of speakers has attracted attendees from all over Yorkshire and beyond.

Included in our list of past study days are, a lecture by Katherine Graves, an inspirational lecture from Sheena Byrom, a bereavement study day, an Independent Midwifery afternoon, fundraising events and much more!

We have hoodies available with the society logo and University of Leeds emblem so if you want to get in on the next order, keep an eye on our facebook page and shop tab.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at our events as your continued support is vital to keeping the Leeds University Union Midwifery Society active! Most importantly, we want LOADS of feedback and input from you lot as we can't do this alone! Please get in touch if you have any ideas for socials or events and we will do our best to help! Contact us via:

Primary Elections 2017/18

Hello lovely people, so the time has come when we are coming to the last few months of being on the committee. The committee needs a President, Treasurer and Secretary to continue from April onwards as the majority of the committee are in their final year and these three roles will be vacant. This means that the society won't be running after April without some new people! Please complete a manifesto and post below for the desired position, you may submit a manifesto for more than one position. The more committee members the better to divide up tasks and accomplish more as a society! Deadlines for applications close 02/03/17 and voting will be open 03/03/17 - 31/03/17.

5 posts are up for election.

Nominations are now closed.

The polls are open and will close at 00:00 on Friday 24 March 2017 (in 19 hours)

Please log in to see more details.
