What we’re all about
German Society brings lovers of Germany, beer and bratwurst together. We're a tight-knit group of sausage-lovers (veggies welcome too though) who meet fortnightly for Kaffee und Kuchen, and regularly have socials at Revs and the infamous Walkabout. Sport darf auch nicht fehlen, and thus we take on other universities at the annual Sauerkraut Cup football tournament, often bringing a whole coach full of chanting supporters. We also have a Modern Languages Netball Team, where we compete against other societies. All events will be communicated via email or our Facebook group: Leeds University German Society.
Kaffee and Kuchen happens fortnightly, Wednesdays 12:30-14:00, in the GRASS Foyer (2nd floor of Michael Sadler). We meet to discuss all things German related and unrelated (do come, we have free hot drinks and biscuits/cake). Our football team often have a kick-about, so do drop us a line if you're interested in this.
We venture to Revs and Walkabout on a regular basis, but we do also like to mix things up a bit with various other socials, including Beaver Works and Fruity. When Oktoberfest and the German Christmas Market comes to Leeds, we love a good social there too. Kommt mal vorbei!
