Wilderness Medicine

What we’re all about

If it all goes wrong when you're hours away from a hospital, in unforgiving conditions or at the top of a mountain then you'll be glad to have the skills you can learn with Wilderness Medicine. They're all about expedition medicine and pre-hospital care in practical settings and welcome those looking for a career in wilderness medicine or just those who love roaming the great outdoors. They have links with mountain rescue organisations and organise regular trips to the Lake District and Snowdonia.

We do affordable weekend trips to places like the Lake District and Snowdonia.

We have many socials including Otley runs, pub nights and summer trips.

It costs £20 for a lifetime membership and just £6 for the year.

Our GIAG is being held on 6th October 2019. Meet us at Leeds train station at 8:30 am for a nice trip out to Ilkley to experience a little bit of what being a wilderness medic is about. Don't forget to bring your walking boots, warm clothes, a packed lunch, and a raincoat!

Weekend trips:

This term we will also be running a weekend trip to Northumberland, from 1st-3rd November. There are limited tickets available, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for updates!

Please see our Facebook page or contact the committee for more event details and updates.
