Explore Yorkshire’s Coast at Scarborough – GOGA Walking Trip
Join Get Out, Get Active on a pleasant coastal walk from the seaside resort of Scarborough.
Scarborough is a popular seaside resort town reportedly founded around 966 AD by a Viking raider, and is famous for its two bays with sandy beaches split by a headland bearing the 12th-century Scarborough Castle. The South Bay was the site of the original medieval settlement and harbour, which form the old town now the main tourist area with cafés, amusements, arcades, theatres and entertainment facilities.
There will be an option of two distances of walk from Scarborough (we'll release final details closer to the event) We will pause en route to rest and to appreciate the views. We will finish the trip off with some free time in Scarborough so we suggest bringing some spending money for a tasty meal, snack or hot drink before departing back for Leeds. Alternately you may want to bring a packed lunch and drink of your own.
