Socially-conscious and surly teenager, AJ (Nell Barlow), is dragged on holiday with her painfully normal family. Funny, heart-warming and honest, Sweetheart, manages to avoid cringe and really explore the conflicting desires and fears of a gay teenager. Writer/director, Marley Morrison, captures the mix of love and embarrassment that family can provide, and also tells an authentic story of young love in the short-lived sunshine of a British holiday.
