Explore Malham Cove and Goredale Scar – GOGA Walking Trip
Join Get Out, Get Active (GOGA) for a friendly guided walk followed by some free time in Malham.
Malham Cove is a huge curving amphitheatre shaped cliff formation of limestone rock. It was formed by a waterfall carrying meltwater from glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age more than 12,000 years ago
On the top of the cove is a large area of deeply eroded limestone pavement, of a strange pattern rarely seen in England.
Goredale Scar is a limestone ravine. It contains two waterfalls and has overhanging limestone cliffs over 100 metres high.
There will be two walking route options- a shorter route for people who wish to spend more time in Malham and a longer walk for those wishing to explore further. Please note that the length of time to explore Malham will depend on which route option you pick.
