Die Hard is surely the ultimate alternative Christmas flick. New York City cop John McClane (Willis) travels to LA to spend Christmas with his estranged wife (Bedelia). His first stop is the office Christmas party at Nakatomi Plaza, where his wife works. But terrorist Hans Gruber (an impeccable performance from Rickman) turns up with some hard-core mayhem in mind, leaving McClane alone in a vest, sans shoes, to save the day. What follows is some of the best and most iconic action cinema ever to have come out of Hollywood, and will send you off into the night with a very unique Christmassy feeling. Yippee-ki-yay, Father Christmas! -- About this outdoor screening This screening is taking place at a temporary outdoor screen at the University of Leeds, next to the Roger Stevens Building. You will be able to take your seat 15min before the advertised time, and the film will begin 15min after the advertised time. Seating is unreserved and while we’re not formally using a socially distanced seating plan as these events are outside, we are keeping capacity for screenings at 100 so there is room for a bit of space between groups. All tickets for outdoor screenings are £5 and can only be bought online. They will be available to buy until the start of the film. When you arrive, a Leeds University Union staff member will show you to your designated seat. You're welcome to bring refreshments but alcohol is not permitted. If bad weather makes an outdoor screening impossible, we will contact you on the morning of the performance and we will endeavour to provide an alternative indoor location. If you would rather not attend the screening at the indoor location you can move your seats to another outdoor performance or we will issue a refund. If an outdoor screening goes ahead but we do experience light rain, free ponchos will be made available to everyone at the screening. In the event of heavy rain, the screening will be halted and customers will receive an email allowing them to book a free ticket to a future screening.
