Universities have become ‘caught in the interface between policy and practice, the very act of empowering students whom society has previously ‘failed’ remains a profoundly difficult challenge’ (Bhatti in Lister, 2003:67). Social class crosses boundaries of identity within every marginalised group yet remains under discussed. This session will discuss Social Class and the huge benefits to the HE community that trailblazer students bring. There will feature presentations from both staff and students, where you’ll get to interact as equals.
