Student Volunteering Week Talk: Volunteering with Your Back Yard
Your Back Yard is a Leeds based CIC, who work with communities to help them identify, fund and manage projects to improve their area. They organise free activity sessions for older adults to promote health and wellbeing. In light of the pandemic these events are now delivered digitally meaning the older adults need to be digitally confident to take part.
Your Back Yard really need the help of students like yourself to help support an older person in this transition. The roles are a fantastic opportunity to build on your interpersonal skills, showcase your digital skills and make a good friend in an older person, and empower them to use technology in a way that most of us take for granted.
