About this event
Throughout the week we have explored each of the NHS Five Ways to Wellbeing to mark Mental Health Awareness week. The theme of this year’s awareness week is kindness. So, over this weekend we’ll explore how you can be kind to others and kind to yourself in order to better your mental wellbeing.
Being kind to yourself is the core of every way to wellbeing. It seems like such a simple trick to better your wellbeing, but it’s easy to let life get in the way of you looking after yourself. Lockdown is only one element of our lives now, just adding to our work, our studies, our personal life etc. Life now can be more hectic than ever or it can be in a lull - either way, we always need to make sure we show ourselves some kindness whatever is going on.
So take this day to reflect on how you can be kinder to yourself every day. It could be something as simple as having an honest casual chat with a friend or family member about how you’re feeling. Or it could be going for a walk or run to clear your head and get out the house. For some, learning how to set more realistic expectations for themselves could make a real impact by not being tough on ourselves about our productivity, our body image, or our presence on social media. Maybe kindness to ourselves can just be to take notice of what we have, who we are and where we are so that we can live in the moment and try to worry less about what’s round the corner.
All our events this week are to raise awareness about how you can find ways to better your wellbeing. Sometimes we need more than tips to help us look after ourselves. So if you are struggling with your mental health or any other issue, we are here to help and support you. If you have any questions or are in need of advice, please feel free to contact us via email (email@example.com) or phone (0113 3801 400).
