Dial into our Student Action for Refugees GIAG- this year brought to you virtually, from the comfort of your own home!
If you are keen to spend some of your free time this year helping refugees and asylum seekers across Leeds, and the UK, then drop in to find out how to get involved and get a view of what we do in our meetings and sessions.
The session will be divided into two halves:
- The first hour will be an induction to STAR Conversation Class volunteering. Learn everything you will need to know to participate in the classes, including tips and good practice, and talk to our committee about their experiences and ask any questions you have.
- The second hour will be facilitated by the STAR Campaigns team. They'll give you a taste of the year ahead through discussing the current Safe Routes campaign, and getting you all to contribute (anonymously if you like!) to a visual petition to show our support for the campaign at Leeds Uni.
If you have any questions in the meantime, or cant make it to the GIAG, send us a message on here or at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we'll get back to you asap!
