About this event
The Give & Take Presents... As part of Islamophobia Awareness Month, LUU's Liberation Coordinators have organised a panel discussion on how Islamophobia manifests in academic spaces and its effect on students. From gendered Islamophobia to the 'institutionally racist' Prevent, guest speakers will insightfully explore the link between Islamophobia and mental health, along with how student unions and Muslim students can mobilise most effectively to tackle the problem.
- Malia Bouattia - Former NUS President
- Adnan Rahman - University of Leicester Students' Union Education Officer
- Deej Malik-Johnson - Campaigner and Organiser, Co-founder of Black Lives Matter Manchester
- Shabina Malik-Johnson - Regional Volunteer Coordinator
After the main discussion, there will be an opportunity to ask questions through an audience Q&A.
