About this event
This trip is an opportunity to get off campus and explore the unique Saltaire World Heritage Centre. Saltaire is named after Titus Salt and the river Aire which runs through the Centre - here he created the world's first industrial model village.
You will be taken on a guided walk to Shipley Glen and Baildon Moor which offer great views of the Bradford area. There will be some free time afterwards to explore the town of Saltaire.
There are plenty of things to do in Saltaire including visiting the central Salts Mill which is a place for art, dining and shopping in one stunning historic building. Inside you can admire the big collection of works by David Hockney, and enjoy bustling restaurants and cafes. You can also learn about the history of the Mill in the People and Process and Saltaire History exhibition.
We will be meeting in front of the Parkinson building at 09:45am to allow us to leave on time at 10.00am to take you to Saltaire. We will return to campus at approximately 16:00.
