About this event
Once this route was a railway line from London to Manchester, now this historic trail runs from Buxton to Bakewell, crosses high above the River Wye via the Monsal Viaduct and cuts through the Peak District hills through a series of well-lit walking tunnels.
We will depart by coach from the Parkinson Steps, and take you by private hire coach to the Peak District. When we arrive we will set off along the Monsal Trail, this walk will be done as one group where you can walk at your own speed along this fairly flat trail. You can enjoy the beautiful sights this 15km route has to offer and we will finish with some free time for you in Bakewell.
Bakewell is a beautiful market town, well known for its unique and traditional puddings. The amount of time you have there will depend on your speed of walking. We suggest some spending money for a snack or hot chocolate and/or you can explore the cafes and shops before departing back for Leeds.
