As a Retail Assistant Manager you will be joining a retail team working in one of the busiest Student Unions in the country. We need you to be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and to have the ability to inspire excellent customer service throughout your team. You will work alongside our Retail Manager to deliver all the usual retail compliance detail and be directly involved in the coaching and development of your team. Our retail stores are fast paced and ever changing to make sure that our retail offer is perfect for our students, so you will need to have the ability to develop and deliver new initiatives whilst maintaining a high level of retail standards.

Your role will encompass both of our retail stores. We have a franchised Co-op store and a clothing store, so experience in either convenience or clothing retail will be an advantage, but we will support you with training for any areas that are new to you.

Retail at Leeds University Union is a vibrant and exciting place to be and this role is perfect for you if you are ready to take that next step into the first levels of retail management or if you want to develop your management skills further in a fun and challenging environment.

So, if you love to delight your customers and enjoy the variety of tasks in retail, from structured and compliant to creative and inspirational, then we would like to hear from you.

As a student’s union we are closed over the Christmas holiday period and on bank holidays so we have the best hours in the business!

We have great internal training opportunities and we are looking for someone who has a real passion for helping us make sure every student loves their time at Leeds.

We offer 26 days’ holiday (plus generous statutory and customary closure days) and a pension scheme.

Please note that your application should state how you meet the criteria listed within the person specification.

Closing Date: 9am Monday 8 April 2019

Interviews: Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April 2019
