What we’re all about

Taekwondo ('the art of hand and foot') is a traditional Korean martial art which focuses on kicking, striking and blocking techniques.

We practice ITF-style Taekwondo and its traditional techniques, sparring (semi-contact), patterns (set routines), self-defence and board breaking. With a varied curriculum and expert teaching tailored to the individual students' pace and needs, there's something for everybody!

Come along to one of our classes! Beginners are always welcome at any time of the year. Grab a committee member or instructor when you arrive and we'll get you settled in.

Our GIAG event will be taking place on October 2nd, 2019 at The Edge Sports Hall 2 from 18:30-20:30. See you all there!!!!

We're also a very friendly and social group, so you'll definitely make lots of awesome friends on your journey to black belt. Outside of training we have a really varied and inclusive social calendar - from our legendary Otley Runs to weekends away in the Dales, activity trips and of course our post-training socials for a relaxed dinner and drink.

Competitions & Grading

We attend competitions during the year, giving you the opportunity to compete among other universities. Competing is, of course, optional - but it's lots of fun and is one of the best ways to improve your sparring and confidence as well as bond with fellow members.

The club facilitates regular gradings - once per semester - giving you the chance to progress in your Taekwondo journey to the next belt level.

We are the BUTL League Champions of 2017 and Runners Up for 2018!
