Remember, never transfer, or pay rent money through another person or company, unless they are close family members, or someone you know well and trust to act for you.”

Things to do in & around Leeds
Want to explore Leeds in your own time but not sure where to start? Never fear. Now most places are back open and ready for visitors, you’ll be spoilt for choice when looking for things to do. Leeds List is a real goldmine of places to go, things to do and tasty bites to eat, and we’d definitely recommend checking it out. But for ideas at a glance, here are some of our recommendations.
Leeds has an ace cultural scene, with plenty of galleries, museums, theatres and more to explore. Why not check out The Tetley or Leeds Art Gallery for a free treat for the eyes, watch some comedy or theatre, or catch a film with Hyde Park Picture House’s pop up here on campus? They’ll be playing brand new films in our new dedicated screening room, as well as holding events like panel discussions and director Q&As. Tickets for 16-25 year olds are just £5 when you sign up for a free membership.
Upcoming showings include The Innocent, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and The Northman.
For landmarks and places of interest, try Kirkstall Abbey, give our Leeds Mural tour a go and check out some of Leeds’ varied architecture on the way, or check out one of our great parks – Roundhay, Golden Acre and Meanwood are all good shouts.
In Yorkshire we’re lucky enough to be surrounded by some amazing areas of natural beauty – and other towns and cities – to explore. Below are some of the best, courtesy of Leeds List.
Leeds is also a brilliant live music city, with a range of venues hosting a plethora of different artists. There are multiple venues just on our campus!
Discover all the gigs taking place in our venues over on Leeds Union Events.
Jobs
If you’re looking for work over the summer months, be sure to check out vacancies advertised by Joblink, LUU’s very own jobs agency, as well as roles right here at the Union. We’re often looking for new student staff members to take part time roles that fit around their studies, and are a fantastic way to build up skills to boost your CV, so be sure to check back frequently to see what’s on offer.
