This year, we have once again exceeded our donation drive target as students have given a massive 17.5 tones of unwanted items to charitable causes across Leeds and diverted unwanted waste from ending up in landfill.
Over 5,000 of our student members donated their unwanted things to help leave Leeds tidy.
All unwanted kitchenware, clothes, non-perishable food, furniture and other donated items came to a total cost of £30,000. All of which has been given, for free, to community causes.
We held 11 free shops across Leeds in places that were struggling economically to people who really need the items. Over 1,200 members of the community benefited from the free shops.
Your unwanted items were also donated to the British Heart Foundation and Emmaus, a charity that tackles homelessness.
We'd like to thank everyone who donated and our partners who helped to make this happen including Leeds City Council, Hyde Park Picture House and Co-op.
