A Free Festive Surprise Comes to the Union

Union

Important update to ice skating: we have had to rearrange the fun to Wednesday 06 of December due to the ice rink arriving today but being too big to fit. A properly sized rink should be with us tomorrow, and everyone who has a slot will still get the same time slot tomorrow. We are sorry to delay the festivities. Please contact Events if you have any questions or queries on events@luu.leeds.ac.uk

During the season where it is better to give than receive, LUU is bringing an ice rink to the Riley Smith Theatre and letting students get their skates on for free to celebrate the holidays.

For one day only on Tuesday 05 December students can take to the ice for 20 minutes of pure glacial fun from 10am-4pm. All you need to do to get on the ice is sign up for a slot here. And we'll provide the ice skates.

There will also be 10 spaces per session that you don't have to book, for those who like to live on the edge when it comes to skating.

Community Officer George Bissett said:

“For making it through Term One, before you go home for the holidays, we wanted to treat you all to some fun you could get together for. And nothing says that better than a one day ice rink.”

The ice rink is LUU’s gift to students, but it is first come first skate, and you will need to sign up here to secure your slot.

This festive treat is just one of the ways the Union is getting in the yuletide spirit, as next week there will be not one, but two Winter Markets, Christmas Fruity, and a panto to name a few. Find out everything going on here.
