Remember your first day of University, when you stepped into the new year wondering what this chapter of your life would be like? You had packed your suitcases, and dragged your whole life into a brand new corner of the world. You wondered to yourself, would you make friends? Would Uni be all it’s made out to be?
Once you arrived, the rush of wandering around the Freshers fair with people you barely knew was unmatched. You anxiously explored the society stalls, hoping to find one which fit you best. You tried to not come across as too eager, but it was a challenge.
Your first night out at the Freshers Fruity is a core memory. You made the most incredible friends, who you still spend time with now. You are so grateful that your new flatmates talked you into going out with them.
Think about every time you dragged yourself out of bed to attend your 9am lectures. You stayed up too late the night before, chatting with your friends and pretending to study. You never regretted the lost sleep though.
As your days away from home added up, your memories did too. The classes you attended, the essays you submitted, the hilarious nights out. Before you knew it, Leeds felt more like home than your home did. The moment you felt settled into Uni wasn’t sudden, but it crept up on you and shocked you nonetheless.
Since then, you have gained your community and confidence. Your academic and personal achievements are worth celebrating. How could you not mark all of your incredible growth?
That’s why we have organised Leeds Ball. It is the perfect opportunity to wave goodbye to the past academic year. Whether you’re a Fresher, or are graduating this summer, Leeds Ball is the perfect place to honour your time at Leeds. It is the biggest and best way to say goodbye to your Uni friends, whether that is just for the summer, or before you graduate.
The dress code is dress to impress, so get spruced up with your friends and be ready to dance all night long. Fruity will be running into the early hours of the morning, and it isn’t one to miss. With incredible events like Neon Mini Golf, a Silent Disco and Live Music, Leeds Ball is sure to be the best event of the year.
