During Climate Week 2023, we hope to raise awareness, introduce you to sustainability careers and provide climate action training. However, most importantly, we want to hear your ideas on how our organisation can do more for the environment.
Since 2014, sustainability has been one of our key priorities and we continually strive to make everything we do as sustainable as possible. We are proud of the changes we have made so far, with key policies on sustainable travel, energy management, water management, operational waste management and purchasing. This year we will complete our pledge to remove single-use plastic across all our operations. Additionally, all of our outlets offer sustainability products. Our cafes offer a discount when you bring a reusable cup, all outlets provide wooden take away cutlery rather than plastic, and you can ask for non-dairy milk for no extra cost. As animal agriculture is a leading cause of carbon emissions, all our outlets offer vegetarian and vegan products. So why not grab a vegan and low mileage ice cream from Scream, or a pulled jackfruit wrap from Common Ground next time you’re at the Union? If you have a great idea on a new environmental initiative we should implement, fill in this form.
If you share our drive to do better for our planet or you want to learn more about why fighting Climate Change is so important, join us for Climate Week 2023. We are hosting several great events. You can take quick action at the Climate Week Litter-Pick and Lunch, learn from the greenest at the Student Sustainability Research Conference, become a sustainable hero at the Careers in Sustainability Fair, and celebrate with the Climate Week Band Jam: Party for the Planet!
