Important Update
Industrial action has been paused for two weeks. This means that strikes scheduled for the weeks commencing 20 and 27 February have been cancelled.
The recently announced dates of strike action from the separate trade unions are:
UCU
- Wednesday 1 February
- Thursday 9 and Friday 10 February
- Tuesday 14, Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 February
- Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 February (now cancelled)
- Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 February and Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 March (now cancelled)
- Thursday 16 and Friday 17 March
- Monday 20, Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 March
- Action short of strike to continue no later than Thursday 20 April 2023
UNISON
- Wednesday 8, Thursday 9, Friday 10, Saturday 11, Sunday 12 February
- Wednesday 22, Thursday 23 and Friday 24 February
UNITE
- Wednesday 8, Thursday 9 and Friday 10 February
- Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 February
ROYAL COLLEGE OF NURSING
- Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 February
Here are some of the things we are doing to respond on your behalf:
- Working with School Reps to assist them in understanding which areas are likely to be impacted and where they can help
- Continuing to lobby the government and decision makers around cost of living for our community and beyond
- Providing up to date information on our webpages
- Working with our postgraduate researcher members and reps
- Consulting the International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) about international students’ concerns and/or worries
- Holding several “Open Hours” where we will invite students to come and discuss industrial action, or other concerns, with members of the LUU Exec
- Giving students a safe and general meeting space to plan campaigns
