LGBTQ+ History Month 2020

"Hi everyone and welcome to LGBTQ+ History Month at LUU!

A big part of the reason I chose to come to Leeds was the huge LGBTQ+ scene there was on offer, and my time here wouldn’t have been the same if I hadn’t been able to find that. The best experiences, opportunities and friendships I’ve had at Leeds have stemmed from having the opportunity to get involved in the LGBTQ+ community and explore my own identity further. Check out our student-led guide to see a load of spaces where you can do the same.

The activity and campaigning for the Month has been put together by the Liberation Coordinators, a team of students who represent marginalised student groups in LUU and the University. You can see more of what they've done below, as well as a host of society events you can get involved with, and a playlist for the Month put together by the LUU LGBTQ+ Staff Network."

At Leeds University Union we have Staff Networks for those with protected characteristics - a Women's group, a BAME group and an LGBTQ+ group.

Here's a themed playlist courtesy of our LGBTQ+ group for you to enjoy and celebrate this History Month with.

The University's Equality Policy Unit is a great source for seeing what events are being put on in the University this LGBTQ+ History Month, as well as the support services available to LGBTQ+ students.
