Getting Home

We have loads of ways to make sure you get home safely from the Union.

Night Bus

We operate a Minibus Safety Service, which takes students home from the Union at a charge of only £1.  The service runs seven nights a week during term-time, with a service leaving hourly from 6.30pm until an hour after the building has closed. In 2012-13 in association with the University we introduced a second service during peak times. This means that between 6.30pm and 1am the service runs half hourly.

Times will be altered on major events as required to suit the needs of our customers.

Our staff can also use the night bus as their transport home for £1

Walk Safe

LUU operates a Walk Safe system to help ensure students get home safely.  This involves security walking lone customers to the nearest taxi rank and waiting with them until they are picked up.

Amber Cars

We have a partnership with local taxi provider Amber Cars. As part of this partnership drivers are obliged to take you home safely even if you don not have any money on you. You must leave them your student card instead of payment. Amber Cars will then drop the card off at the Union within a few days. You can then come along to the Union, pay your fare and collect your card.
