We’re looking to recruit eight Student Engagement Assistants to be part of our new Academic Engagement Team, augmenting our existing work on representation, wellbeing, and careers and expanding into new areas. Above all we are looking for enthusiastic people who understand the value of developing and supporting a diverse community. You will gain experience of developing partnerships, project management, communications including giving presentations, campus outreach, team working across the organisation, gathering and collating research, as well as report writing. These are all skills that will help your future employability in all fields.
You will need to work in collaboration with other members of LUU who are working on linked projects and you will also work in partnership with colleagues in faculty schools, the Doctoral College, the International Student Office, and other relevant campus services.
The role is particularly suitable for current students and researchers and can be undertaken alongside active study; we are happy to work with you to find a pattern of work that suits you. We are working in a positive way to increase the diversity of our staff and would particularly welcome applications from people with diverse personal characteristics and backgrounds, as well as those who can bring their understanding of the barriers to academic achievement that these characteristics might present. The successful applicant will be working in a diverse team and we therefore hope to get a diverse group of applicants.
