The LUU Liberation Coordinators welcome you to International Women’s Day 2021! This day marks the celebration of all women across the globe from political, social and economic achievements to reflecting on all the growing positive changes that have enabled women to become more confident within themselves and as a collective. As Liberation Coordinators, we believe that International Women’s Day is a day to especially accelerate the strengths of all women by amplifying our voices, supporting each other and working towards the common goal for gender equality. We believe that at our university, students should be encouraged to participate in challenging conversations to question the existing stereotypes and combatting prejudices against women around the world. Importantly, as students, it is a day for us to commemorate women in education, celebrating academic confidence, resilience and proudly collaborating together as a strong supportive community.
