What we’re all about
The University of Leeds Cycling Club incorporates a wide range of cycling disciplines from downhill mountain biking to track cycling and members range from novice riders to elite cyclists. Members can enjoy weekly road and mountain bike rides, trips farther afield to places including Scotland, Wales and the Lake District, spinning sessions and other social events of all kinds.
Road: A Rides for training (30 to 80 miles at 17-19 mph), Women's Rides (30-60 miles), and B Rides for club riding (25-60 miles at 14-16mph) take place on Wednesdays at 2PM and Saturdays at 9:30am
Speeds and distances stated are just guidelines and vary week to week, but all routes are posted the day before on the facebook page by one of the ride leaders.
We also have several two-hour slots on the new Brownlee Centre Cycle Circuit each week, times and dates TBA but these sessions will be free to members and bikes are available for hire at no cost.
MTB: Wednesday afternoons 2pm and Saturday mornings at 10pm.
We have regular socials each term including the infamous Lycra Otley Run, fortnightly pub trips and the 'fridge-to-fridge', as well as trips to the Manchester velodrome and weekends to Sheffield, Scotland and Wales.
Cycling memberships costs £20 for the whole year will allow you to go on club trips, purchase club kit and regularly ride with the club.
