Student Volunteering Week 2022

Student Volunteering Week 2022
Student Volunteering Week 2022 is the 21st year of this national celebration of student volunteering. Taking place from 7 – 13 February, Student Volunteering Week will celebrate volunteering and its impacts, including:
- Improving student wellbeing
- Developing students’ employability skills
- Its positive contributions to both the wider and local community
Student Volunteering Week is a unique, inspiring opportunity to learn all about volunteering and how you can get involved. And if you’re already a student volunteer, it’s the perfect chance to showcase your society and all the wonderful things you do to students interested in joining you.
With students so often at the forefront of campaigns and work on social issues such as sustainability and social entrepreneurship, volunteering is an excellent way to make an active contribution to the causes you care about. We hope Student Volunteering Week will give you the information and motivation you need to get involved and make a difference.
What's on for SVW?
LUU and The University of Leeds have got lots of exciting events and talks planned during this week, including a fair with groups such as Leeds Uni Boob team, Marrow Society, SSAFE and many more. The University Volunteer team will also be there to answer all your volunteering related questions.
The University is also running many Volunteering talks during this week including How to Become a Student Volunteer and a talk from Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity.
On top of this we have a Community Litter Pick taking place on 9 February.
That’s just a snapshot of everything taking place during Student Volunteering Week, so head over to Engage to see everything on offer.
