Theatre Group

Leeds University Union Theatre Group is one of the University’s longest established societies, formed in 1919.

This society is for those who are interested in all aspects of theatre, be it directing, producing, acting, lighting/sound design or just watching! We offer members the opportunity to participate in 9 shows across both semesters and the chance to perform at the Edinburgh fringe every year. We produce all kinds of theatre; specialising in scripted plays both by contemporary and classical playwrights. Last year we had a number of incredibly successful shows including ‘Blue Stockings’, ‘Doctor Faustus’, ‘The Memory of Water’, and ‘Othello’

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we are dedicated to content to our members and being as active as possible so we are constantly planning how best to do this safely and in adherence to the Government guidelines.  Keeping up to date with our social media channels and our new website is the best way of seeing all of our latest news and updates.
