Theatre Group

Leeds University Union Theatre Group is one of the University’s longest established societies, formed in 1919.

This society is for those who are interested in all aspects of theatre, be it directing, producing, acting, lighting/sound design or just watching! We offer members the opportunity to participate in 9 shows across both semesters and the chance to perform at the Edinburgh fringe every year. We produce all kinds of theatre; specialising in scripted plays both by contemporary and classical playwrights. Last year we had a number of incredibly successful shows including ‘Blue Stockings’, ‘Doctor Faustus’, ‘The Memory of Water’, and ‘Othello’

In Semester Two we have four regular shows for you to watch and be part of: ‘Random Acts of Malice’, ‘Posh’, ‘Two’ and ‘Pterodactyls’, as well as one ‘First Timers’ show, ‘Lady Windermere’s Fan,’ which will only be open to those who have never been in a show before at uni.
