Meeting
We meet every Monday during term-time at 6 pm upstairs in the Emmanuel Centre Chaplaincy. We hold a short Taize service on the second Monday of every month. We will be running sessions according to a monthly theme (Upcoming themes include: Social Justice, Gender and Sexuality, the Environment) with sessions including films, workshops, discussions and reflective bible studies. We also attend events run by local churches, community groups and other faiths and attend national SCM conferences/retreats.
All are welcome – whether you want to just sit and be quiet during Taize, join in with discussion or get involved with community projects and leading events.
Socials
In the past, we’ve gone out for meals or to the pub, gone bowling and had film nights. We’ve also gone to national SCM conferences including the Project Bonhoeffer weekend held here in Leeds.
Membership
It is free to join Leeds SCM but if you want to join the national SCM movement (you get magazines and lots of other benefits) it will cost you £5 a year or £12.50 for 3! Feel free to come to our GIAG or another event before committing.
