What can you expect as a member of the Commuters' Society?
- The opportunity to build a network of commuter friends across all faculties and years (both Undergraduate and Postgraduate)
- Access to fun, inclusive socials that aren’t held too late at night and don’t revolve around drinking
- The chance to be properly represented as part of the student body. The society is working with the university to build materials for commuting students, and increase understanding among heads of school and other societies about how they can accommodate commuters
Socials
The society aims to offer socials that will work around a commuting student’s lifestyle. This means you’ll never have to worry about missing that last train home or having to leave early because you can’t stay too late.
Join our Facebook group to get all the up to date info on our socials and how you can get involved!
Previous socials:
– crazy golf
– red hot buffet
– haute dolci (desserts)
– icestone gelato (desserts)
– mod pizza
– film screening (at uni)
– commuters’ soc 1st birthday party (at uni)
Membership
Membership costs £3 for a year.
However, we believe that all commuting students should have access to our events for free. This means you don’t have to pay membership to be part of our society or to come to our events. Membership is not essential, but if you would like to support us please become a member and donate.
Due to the current situation, all of our Semester 1 events will be online. But where in-person socials can take place, students would pay for their own meal or ticket etc, and the society would try to reduce costs where possible, through student discounts or group tickets.
