Leeds Sport is a joint partnership between Leeds University, Leeds University Union and the Sport and Physical Activity department (SPA) that aims to provide sporting opportunities to all students. Whether you're a competitive athlete, or someone wanting to get more active, Leeds Sport showcases a variety of clubs and different sports to get involved with. Have a look at our Clubs and Societies and see how you can get more active.
Our leisurewear kits are provided by our preferred supplier, Surridge. You can find all the available Leeds Gryphons sport kit here. All playing kit designs from other suppliers that include our university logo and colours need to follow LUU kit guidelines and be approved by our Kit Coordinator, Danielle. Any sponsorship on kits also needs to comply with our sponsorship guidelines. We’re always here to lend a hand with this, if you have any questions then do come into the Activities office on Level 1 of your union building, or contact Danielle.
Sports Club Documents
Every club and society needs to submit the appropriate documents to LUU in order to be affiliated.
For clubs receiving the Gryphon Club Fund, the funding will only be released once we have all the following documents:
- Social guidelines
- Risk assessment
- Code of Conduct
- Code of Practice
- Coach/Instructor registration
Coaches and Instructors
Many groups have coaches or instructors to deliver their activity. This is beneficial because it ensures a professional standard is achieved and can help to develop the group's potential.
If you intend on using a coach or instructor (paid or voluntary), then you must provide LUU with the information in the Supporting Registration Document.
For any further questions, please contact our Sports Coordinator George: G.Dale@leeds.ac.uk

Every club and society within LUU abides by LUU’s ‘Bye-Laws’. This covers a range of expectations and details the processes involved should clubs or individuals be involved in any incident that leads to an investigation or disciplinary action taken.
Every Gryphon Club also abides by Leeds Sports’ Discipline Policy which aims to provide clarification on potential incidents/sanctions that are involved within an investigation or disciplinary. It also seeks to give a transparent view on how disciplinaries are managed, on what the expectations are for staff and student clubs. For any questions on this, please email Jamal or Sarah; LUU’s Sports Clubs Manager and Leeds University’s Sport Performance Manager.
