We’re working with our sustainability partner – the design-led reusables brand Chilly’s – to bring Leeds students the ultimate design competition.
We’re giving students the chance to get their own bottle design created and sold in LUU, with two runners up getting their designs created to share with friends and family.
We’re all about making better choices when it comes to the environment, and using a reusable water bottle is a super simple – but really effective – step towards cutting your plastic waste. Chilly’s design-led bottles have already become part of the Leeds student image, but it’s time to take that one step further – Leeds, it’s time to get creative.
What's the brief?
We want to see a design that represents the things that have helped you love your time at Leeds – and we want to know the story behind the design, too. Whether it’s a collage of your favourite Leeds spots, a painting of your best Leeds memory or a doodle you did in a lecture, the best designs and stories will demonstrate a strong connection to our brilliant city and University, and a fun and creative approach.
All you need to do is fill in this form. A couple of things to note about your email submission:
- Please use your student email address, or provide evidence of your student ID to be considered (this can be your student number).
- Please read the full terms and conditions before submitting your entry. You can find them here.
- Please also confirm that you’re happy for your design to be shared on social media.
The specifics
We’d love it if you could bear the following specifications in mind when creating your design, to simplify the process of printing the bottles (but if that’s not possible, don’t worry – you’re still welcome to enter):
- The optimal format is square artwork with full bleed image or illustration.
- If possible, please submit a 300 dpi JPEG in CMYK colour, 300 ppi scan or an HQ photo.
- The digital printing process means there are no embossing or foiling options.
The competition runs from Wednesday 23 March, to 12 noon on Monday 9 May.
How will it be judged?
All submissions will be considered by Chilly’s who will have the final say on the winner and runners-up.
What's the prize?
The winner will have their design created and sold in Union Shop at LUU. The other two finalists will have their bottles created on a limited scale, to share with their family and friends.
And for a little extra fun, when you share your designs to Instagram using the hashtag #LeedsLovesChillys and tag @leedsuniunion and @chillys, you’ll be in with the chance to win a £50 LUU voucher to be used at any of our outlets – perfect for picking up a Chilly’s bottle in Union Shop.
